Zara Gillespie
Zara met Mary when she started coming to the studio for piercings and to buy clothing. When one of the members of staff left in 2004, Mary offered Zara a job, and she has been working at Heaven ‘n’ Hell ever since. She was originally helping out with the clothing side of the shop. When it turned into a tattooing and piercing studio, Mary offered her an apprenticeship in piercing, which of course she said yes to. After learning about hygiene and various other requirements, Zara did her first piercing in December 2005, and has now finished her apprenticeship, with a few exceptions in advanced genital piercing.
Zara now works full time, and is also trained to do microdermals. She enjoys doing ear projects, like Mary, and helping people choose new and unusual piercings that suit them.
As the years went on, her love for art started leaking into the studio via designing tattoos for customers. Now, Zara can usually be found painting on the walls/windows in the studio, or with a piece of paper in front of her, designing something for a customer. Her main job is still piercing, but over the next couple of years will gradually move into the tattoo side of the studio. She does Apprentice Nights every Tuesday, where you can get tattooed by her under the watchful eye of Kev. These tattoos are at a reduced price because they are classed as training.
